DiAthlete Global Premiere
11th November 2017| Free
On Saturday 11th November 2017 the DiAthlete Global Premiere will be taking place at the University of Greenwich’s Royal Naval College, London, in the King William Building. Uniting the world as 1 through living with type 1, the event will take place from 09.45 for registration until 17.30 – after screening the DiAthlete T1D Global documentary.
There will be a host of inspiring guests throughout the day with x3 engaging roundtables: a Q&A with the doctors panel – including social media guru, Dr Partha Kar, where we will discuss the latest developments and leading health care concerns; a UK T1D advocates panel: discussing a range of subjects themed around finding the initial acceptance of type 1 diabetes and the emotional side to the journey, getting active & back into favourite hobbies, and connecting with the T1D community; a Global T1D Panel – a very rare opportunity to meet passionate type 1 heroes from across 6 continents of the world in one place & hear their stories, from the differences in healthcare & discrimination to the uplifting impact they generate around the globe!
Throughout the day we will also have an exciting exhibition, with teas coffees and snacks provided (guests welcome to bring a packed lunch too). Dexcom, Frio, Funky Pumpers, DiAthlete will host lead exhibit stands; furthermore, a global exhibit room will feature info on DWED (diabetics with eating disorders), the crucial work by T1International, and a global type 1 diabetes insight provided by Ascotid (Romania), DASH Camp (USA), Diabetes Youth Care (Ghana), Dia Vida (Costa Rica), Meethi Zindagi (Pakistan), Piquenique Azul (Brazil).
Hosted by Gavin Griffiths (The DiAthlete) We will have a Fundraising Prize Draw during the day too!
