I am pleased to announce my next tour to support awareness, inspiration and fundraising for diabetes… DiAthlete USA 2014 Tour!
I am super excited to be heading over to 4 states and 5 locations of the United States for nearly 6 weeks September – October this year! What counts is that it is all in aid of the charity Marjorie’s Fund, who support people with type 1 diabetes in resource poor locations. This charity’s work is nothing short of exceptional and it appeals directly to communities in need, supporting adolescents into adulthood – which is difficult for anybody with diabetes, but imagine doing that without regularly receiving the essential supplies such as insulin or blood testing meters, or without an education to know the ins and outs in order to control your diabetes! Marjorie’s Fund does that and so much more to ensure people in such areas of the world do not JUST survive but live to THRIVE with their diabetes.
Dr Jason Baker (founder of Marjorie’s Fund) and I are very grateful to DEXCOM for their support, as they will be the official Tour Sponsors and with more to soon be revealed, the tour will consist of endurance challenges, diabetes talks and seminars to local communities, interviews with advocates and inspiring figures around the States, stadium tours and press interviews for diabetes awareness! Whilst in New York I begin the tour with a testing challenge… THE MANHATTAN MARATHONS: 7 Marathon Distance Routes in 7 Days as I circulate Long Island, starting and finishing at Manhattan Central Park!
Tour Location Dates:
4th – 14th September 2014: New York City / Long Island, New York (Manhattan Marathons 7th – 13th Sept)
15th – 19th September 2014: San Francisco Bay, California

26th September – 4th October 2014: Boston, Massachusetts
5th – 11th October 2014: Chicago, Illinois
